HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Happy New Year! We are very excited for the upcoming year and hope it brings lots of good things our way.
I had to work on New Year's Eve, so Skyler and Maclane planned a very fun party for us. They bought special glasses for our toast. We had a lot of fun decorating them.

They turned out great and it was a very fun craft!

Skyler made a pinata while I was at work. I couldn't believe it when I came home and saw this. It made me laugh so hard.

We had to hang it in the garage, because Maclane has a pretty good arm and we were afraid for our lamps, furniture, etc.

She had so much fun!!! It was such a great idea. Skyler put on some fun music that really helped it feel like a party.

I even got in on the action. It was more fun than I expected.

Yea! Candy! Candy! And hair combs?!? Dolphins?!? Fake Money?!? HAHA

I laughed so hard when I saw what Skyler bought to put in the pinata. We had to channel our inner thug and put some combs in our hair and show off our gold coins. It helped that we had Beyonce's CD on in the background. To much fun!!!

Next on the party train was to pin the tail on the donkey. Maclane peeked and so her attempt was exactly on the tail. Skyler has very good aim, so without cheating his was right on the tail. Of course my attempt ended up on his face, so Maclane hurried and put my tail with the others and said we all won. What a sweet girl!

Of course you can't have a New Year's Eve party without noise makers and party hats. We did our own count down (several times) and had a lot of fun welcoming the new year.

OUR VERY FUN CHRISTMAS!!!

This is going to be a very long post...so get ready for lots of pictures! Christmas was so fun this year especially since Maclane is 4 yrs. and loves to participate in all things Christmas.

Our sweet girl's beautiful face on Christmas morning!!! Maclane was so excited for each present and after she opened each one she would say "Thanks guys...you are the sweetest parents". It was the cutest thing ever!!!

She had so much fun opening her presents that we let her "help" us open our presents too.

I think Maclane's favorite gift this year is her new Barbie bike. She loves to be active and play outside and had outgrown her little tricycle. She was thrilled when she saw her big girl bike and rode it all through the house.

We were able to go to church on Christmas morning which was wonderful. We loved hearing/singing all the Christmas music and really helped us remember the true meaning of Christmas. Maclane wanted to stay dressed up to go see Grandma and Grandpa Lee.

She was so excited to open these!!!

My Aunt Darlene sure knows how to host a fun Christmas party. She let the girls make these adorable chocolate mice. I think Maclane's turned out awesome and she did them all by herself!

More presents...we sure got spoiled this year!!!

Not sure why Maclane is wearing orange cones as a necklace, but I saw her running around like this and had to take a picture. Haha!!!

We also had a super fun Christmas party at Ria and Darrin's house. Maclane loves to spend time with her cousins...I have to beg her to let me spend time with them too.

Ria got Maclane the Barbie Charm School movie and she loves it so much. She has already watched it 5 or 6 times. She likes to get her Barbies out and have Skyler or me play "charm school" where you make the barbies act out the movie.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AT OPRYLAND!!!

A few weeks ago I ran into an amazing friend I hadn't seen for awhile. I miss her so much. She is such an awesome person and I love getting to spend time with her. We had so much fun talking and wanted to get together again soon. We both like the Christmas decorations at the Opryland Hotel, so we planned a trip together. We had a blast!!! Thank you so much Becky and Stephan.

Becky and Stephan have 2 adorable little girls Anna and Katie. Maclane LOVED them. They were instant friends! We enjoyed a fun lunch together before heading to the hotel.
The decorations there are so amazing. It really helped get me into the Christmas spirit.

The entire day it seemed like our timing was perfect. We stumbled upon a free "Shrek the Halls" show. It was so fun!

Anna and Maclane held hands during the entire show. Adorable huh!!!

We were so thankful that Becky and her family came with us, because we all had so much more fun together. Maclane talked about Anna and Katie the entire way home...until she fell asleep in the car.

Thanks again you guys! We can't wait to see you again soon!

Thanksgiving & Christmas Decorations

We feel so blessed this year and have so many things we are thankful for. I love Thanksgiving and the opportunity it gives us to reflect on all we have.

Dinner at Skyler's parents house. Maclane loved her fancy glass and the food was wonderful.

On my side of the family we went out to eat which was pretty fun. The conversation was so funny. Everyone was talking about the Breaking Dawn movie and if Bella should or shouldn't have (spoiler alert) chosen to marry Edward and be a vampire. What was so funny is that Skyler actually had an opinion and said Bella made the right decision because once she started aging she would wish she could be a never aging vampire and take out her regret on Jacob. I love my husband!!! :)

The next day we put up our Christmas tree and some decorations. It was a lot of fun and helped us get into the Christmas spirit.

Christmas gets more and more fun with Maclane getting older and wanting to help with everything.

Maclane was so spoiled this year for Halloween! We had a blast at the church party a few days ago, but of course had to get our trick-or-treating on today.

Here are some fun pictures of our beautiful Snow White enjoying Halloween! The evening began at the Mall.

After the Mall we headed to Skyler's parents neighborhood. Maclane seriously had the best time ever there. She met up with a few friends and they ran all over the neighborhood with Skyler and I trying to keep up.

Maclane ripped off her wig and then really started running to get more candy. It was hilarious!

What a fun Halloween! We are so happy to have our sweet little princess to enjoy it with!!!

Trunk-or-Treat

Tonight was our church Trunk-or-Treat party. We all had a lot of fun especially Maclane. She was the prettiest pirate we've ever seen!!! Skyler and I decided to dress up this year as Vampires. Unfortunately nobody knew what we were. They kept telling me "witches rock".

To our great astonishment we actually won some prizes! Skyler won scariest costume!!!

We also won best costume family! We were shocked b/c there were so many people there...I guess we're glad we dressed up after all.

Maclane loved trick-or-treating, but she is so polite that she kept getting pushed out of line by the other kids. Our sweet little girl!!!

She made bank with a ton of candy though. She was completely thrilled!!!

Poor Skyler got stuck passing out the candy while I walked around with Maclane. I think he was a big hit though b/c there were always some teenage girls around our car. haha

Maclane said this was her favorite part...enjoying some of her candy with friends.

What a fun Halloween and it isn't over yet!!!

Autumn fun here we come!

I love this time of year. The cool wind, the colors of the leaves, yummy food...everything about Autumn puts me in a good mood.

We loved having so many of our friends there.

I think the petting zoo might have been Maclane's favorite part. She loved all the animals and it looks like they loved her too.

Gatlinburg....again!!!

We were lucky enough to tag along on another one of Skyler's business trips to Gatlinburg. It is one of our favorite places and everytime we go we try to do something fun that we didn't get to do the last time.

This trip we went to Dollywood. It was so much fun!!! Wish we had more time there, but here are a few pics of the afternoon.

Gatlinburg

We were so lucky a few weeks ago to enjoy a mini vacation to one of our favorite places...Gatlinburg. We took Maclane to the Dixie Stampede. It was a blast!!! So much better than I was expecting. Maclane loved all the guys riding horses and after the show they were gracious enough to let Maclane meet them and pet their horses.

They serve you dinner while you watch the show. You don't have any silverware and have to eat everything with your hands. It was sooo much food and super yummy except for the whole chicken with its legs tied up. No thank you. :)

We also had a great time with our new friends Bob and Paula. They were so much fun and we enjoyed every minute we spent with them. We are hopefully planning another trip back soon.

THE HAIRCUT!!!

Most of you have noticed Maclane sporting a shorter hairdo in our last few posts. I am just now getting around to posting about Maclane cutting her own hair.

I thought she was asleep, but she actually snuck out of her bed and found a pair of mini scissors and went to work cutting her own hair in the dark. I went to check on her and this is what I found.

The Mullet!!!

Of course I cried some, b/c Maclane's hair grows very slow and I knew it would take a long time for it to grow back.
Do you see the almost bald spots above her ear?

The next morning I cut all her hair into a short little bob and it actually turned out cute. No one can really tell now and she has even gotten some compliments on her new haircut. Hahaha!!!

Nashville Zoo & Vacation Bible School

Wow!!! We have already been having a fun and busy summer. Austin, Viola and the girls came for a visit from Colorado and Maclane LOVED spending time with her cousins. It was an extremely hot day, but we still had a great time at the Zoo.

We took lots of breaks and thanks to Grandma & Grandpa all the girls enjoyed a ride.

We loved these pink flamingos.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Maclane is starting a Mother's Morning out preschool in the Fall and they invited her to Vacation Bible School. We figured it was a good way to see if she is ready for preschool and we found out she is ready!!!

I wish I could have recorded this song, b/c it is so adorable. Maclane had a great time and has been singing "God is wild about us" all week. I haven't been to VBS and couldn't believe how amazing it was. Maclane had a blast and is begging to start school.

Skyler's Graduation and How Do Boobies Grow

It has been so long since I updated our blog and have lots to catch up on, but first I wanted to post about Skyler's graduation. We are so proud of him for earning his Bachelor's degree in Business Management. He has worked so hard and is very happy to be done!!! Maclane is so proud of her daddy.

So the other day Maclane asked me how she can grow boobies. I told her it would happen when she got older. She wasn't satisfied and asked if there was a way she could grow them herself like how things grow in a garden. It totally cracked me up and then the next day Maclane drew this picture of a girl. Notice anything?!?! haha

Easter is not about bunnies

Skyler likes to draw Maclane's cards for her if he has time. I especially liked this one!!!

We have been so busy with Skyler's graduation, our house on the market and working. I forgot to buy an egg coloring kit, so we decided to just let Maclane draw on the eggs. She had a great time and was very particular about her drawings. I think we have a future artist. :)

It was so cute, because she wanted to draw faces on them. After she colored them she started getting really excited and saying thank you to us. Then she said how much she couldn't wait for the eggs to hatch and she loved her new pets and promised to take care of them. It was a real let down when we had to tell her that no little chicks were going to hatch out of those eggs.

Instead of lots of candy this year we decided to buy her 2 new Barbie movies.

After church we headed to Darlene's for a very fun Easter egg hunt. She loved this little chick from Ria.

I think she is trying to tell me to stop taking pictures.

Of course I had to take a few more anyway. :)

Inside some of the eggs were adorable hairbows and other eggs had candy in them. Darlene sure spoiled all the girls!

Maclane's birthday part 2

Maclane sure had a wonderful birthday this year. We celebrated it for several days in a row and she loved all the attention!!! She looks so cute in her new princess nightgown. Thanks Sevil! Maclane loves it. Michelle and her family always spoil Maclane like crazy. Thanks you guys! She hasn't stopped playing with the pet shop hamster and watching the movies. Also, the clothes are adorable.

Maclane's birthday part 1

Maclane turned 4 yrs old on April 11th. For the past several weeks she has been begging us to get her ears pierced. We finally gave in. She was so brave. We were nervous for her b/c she is terrified of the doctor and getting shots, but she sat so still. I'm sure it helped to be on daddy's lap. They decided to do each ear separately to try and get them as even as possible. After the 1st earring she didn't even cry and sat still for the 2nd earring.

The next day we had a party for her at Skyler's parents house. I wanted to make her a special cake and got this idea from a friend's blog. She loves barbies, so we thought this would be the perfect cake for her.

She screamed when she opened this present. Thanks Doug, Terri and Lindsey. Maclane loves her princesses.

As soon as she blew out her candles she grabbed the candle and licked the frosting.

She couldn't wait to take her new barbie out of the cake to play with it.

We are so thankful for our special little girl. Happy birthday Maclane.

5 years and counting

This past Friday we celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary. The weather was almost exactly like it was the day we got married. We both couldn't believe how fast these last 5 years have gone.

We enjoyed a wonderful day together. At lunch a sweet lady found out it was our anniversary and offered to take our picture.

We are looking forward to many more years together.

Maclane in a fashion fairytale & warm weather

Maclane's favorite movie at the moment is Barbie in a fashion fairytale. She is actually watching it right now so I can update our blog. She loves to play dress up!!! Here are a few pictures of her playing with Shariana.

It's so cute, b/c she always does this pose whenver she wants to look like Barbie, a model or princess. It seriously makes me smile. :) Not sure why she has the snake. haha

Ok another thing...the princess dresses only come off when she takes a bath or sleeps. She plays in them, goes to storytime, the playground, grocery store, everywhere wearing them. It is part of her reward for good behavior. When she misbehaves she can't wear her princess dress that day. It has really worked. She even sleeps part of the night in her own bed so she can wear her dresses. We are still working on getting her to sleep the whole night in her own bed.

After all the snow we are finally having a couple of warm days. We decided to take advantage of the sunshine and headed to feed the ducks at the park. It was so much fun. Maclane wanted to stand by this and show us how tall she is.

She likes to get as close to the water as possible and then when the ducks start swimming over to get the bread it scares her and she starts running away.

Miss independent lately. She always wants to run off and explore.

Snowed in together!!!

You won't believe it, but we got 9 inches of snow!!! Luckily we got snowed in together and here are a few pictures of our snow day.

Skyler made a sled and pulled Maclane all around the yard. She had a blast!!! I wasn't able to take as many pictures as I wanted, b/c I was having so much fun playing in the snow too. We had a snowball fight and made snow angels. I felt like a little kid again. :)

Maclane has this awesome craft box that she got for Christmas. It has lots of ideas for craft projects...a 3 year olds dream come true.

My mom made Maclane and I matching aprons and she loves to wear it!!! Maclane is going to be an amazing cook. She constantly wants to help and gets better every time.

I know I shouldn't let Maclane taste the batter, but she loves to "pinky taste" and make sure its good before we bake it. :)

I think Maclane is going to be an artist like Skyler. She loves drawing and coloring. We are working on writing the alphabet, but drawing pictures is much more fun.

The tent is her favorite place to play with her babies, read books, watch movies and occasionally even sleep. It was adorable how excited she was to sleep in her tent even though its only a few inches from her bed. :)

Snow days are a lot of fun, but I am ready for spring!

Christmas & SNOW!!!

Skyler offered to cook Christmas Eve dinner this year since I had to work. When I came home he had decorated the table with our favorite nativity set. I couldn't help but post a picture of it. We turned all the lights off and listened to Christmas music and ate our yummy dinner by candlelight. It sure helped me get into the Christmas spirit. Thanks Skyler!!!

Christmas morning was SO fun with Maclane this year. Look at her eyes in the picture. She is ready to open her presents. :)

One of Maclane's favorite toys she got was a dollhouse with all the little people and furniture, etc. She loves it and has already made Skyler and I play with her for hours. She comes up with these hilarious stories. She was pretending to be the mommy and said to me "I'm having a hard time b/c my baby slipped on an ice cube and died". I wish I could write all the funny stories she has already come up with playing house.

Maclane loved tearing open the presents so much we let her open our presents too.

Skyler's brother and Rachel are in Korea this year for Christmas. They were kind enough to send us some really fun presents from there. Thanks you guys!

My brother Will and Ashley sent us an awesome gift this year. It is a digital picture frame. Skyler and I were so excited when we opened it and then Maclane realized there was bubble wrap in the box. She didn't know what a digital frame was, but started jumping on the bubble wrap and wanted to tell Uncle Will thank you for her gift. :) Thanks you guys...we love the frame!!!

Another Christmas present this year was the beautiful snow we woke up to on Christmas morning. I can't remember the last time we had snow on Christmas. After all the presents were unwrapped we ate cinnamon rolls for breakfast and watched the living scriptures version of the nativity. (I highly recommend that version if you have kids...Maclane loved it.) Then we went out to play in the snow. Maclane was so excited we just put her coat on over her pajamas.

In honor of Eclipse out on dvd I thought I would post these adorable photos. A couple of weeks ago I went to check on Maclane, b/c she was being really quiet playing in her room. This is what I saw when I opened her door...so I quickly grabbed the camera and snapped a few pics before she realized I was there.

After she noticed I was there she posed for a couple pics with her boyfriend. :) She loves Taylor Lautner so much. For the past year she has had a crush on him. Her Aunt Michelle gave her this picture a few months ago and she keeps it in her room. She constantly talks to him on her pretend cell phone and tells everyone they are getting married.

At least she has good taste!!!

We took Maclane to the Veteran's Day parade this year. It was a lot of fun. They gave everyone flags to wave and Maclane loved it. What she didn't love were all the firetrucks and motorcyles.

Ok, I had to include these next 2 pics in my post, b/c Skyler and I were laughing so hard. I guess you would call this a redneck veteran's day parade. haha

Miss Silver Mist

This year for Halloween Maclane wanted to be Fairy Silver Mist. She chose every aspect of her costume...even the red shoes. :) She couldn't wait for Halloween and talked about it the whole month of October. Here she is posing in her costume.

We decided to take her to the church trick-or-treat party this year. She had a blast!

She LOVED trick-or-treating. She told me before it started..."Mom, you say trick-or-treat and they give you candy. Then you say thank you and go to someone else and get more candy." It was so cute and I couldn't believe how much she has grown since last year.

Yea candy!!!

She kept wanting to stop and see what kind of candy she got and how much of it.

Maclane was so sweet. When we got home she kept wanting to share all her candy. She offered some to Skyler and me and then wanted to call her cousin Rachel and see if she wanted any. :)

Maclane's Great Pumpkin

We had so much fun today. Skyler thought it would be fun to hide a pumpkin for Maclane and let her find it. She was so excited to discover that pumpkins are growing in our backyard. :)

Maclane has really been looking forward to carving a pumpkin. Skyler asked her what kind of face she wanted her pumpkin to have and she said very mean.

Cleaning out the pumpkin was hilarious. Maclane thought it was so gross, but loved it anyway.

Thank goodness we had Daddy there to do the carving part. Mommy isn't very good at that kind of stuff.

After we carved the pumpkin Maclane wanted to plant some pumpkin seeds in the backyard. She said she wanted more pumpkins for next year. :)

We think the pumpkin turned out great and we had a lot of fun together as a family.

Everything is so much more fun with Maclane. She loves celebrating all the holidays and is really really really looking forward to trick-or-treating.

Girl's Night

I have to post a few pictures from girl's night last week. Cyndi brought over "The Last Song"...which was really good. We all had so much fun together as usual. Even Maclane joined in. Maclane loves to play rough and Cyndi is perfect at teasing her. She is sweet to spend so much time with Maclane. She let Maclane give her a manicure, play littlest pet shop and whatever other games she came up with.

Cyndi braided my hair during the movie. It was so fun and reminded me of being 13 and having a slumber party. Didn't it turn out cute!!! :)

I really have a lot of fun with Cyndi and Shariana and can't wait for another girl's night soon!

Colorado Part II

I really wanted to post a few more pictures from our fun trip to Colorado. The drive was sooooo long, but even after a long day in the car Maclane was still in good spirits. She loves to stay at hotels.

We wanted to make sure and see Kaylin while we were in Colorado. She is Maclane's best friend and cousin. We had a great time with Kaylin and her parents.

We wanted to bring a little gift for Maclane's cousins. She chose these cute stuffed animals. They were a big hit. All the girls wanted to bring them on the hikes and everywhere we went , so they just stuck them in their shirts. Adorable!!!

4 hours in the ER

Yesterday evening we decided to take Maclane to the Mall for dinner. She LOVES chicken & rice from there. After dinner we walked around alittle. Maclane saw a life size cut-out of Bella and started running to meet her. After only a few steps she tripped and landed right on her chin. We had to rush her to the ER where she got 4 stiches. Poor little girl.

While the Dr. was stiching her up they had to call for more nurses to come help hold her down. She hates going to the Dr. just like her daddy used to when he was little. She kept telling the nurses they better get off her. I was almost in tears and tried telling her if she would be still we would go get her a new toy as soon as they were done. Of course she wasn't still, but when they were done she said "can we go get my toy...a really big toy".

Colorado Part 1

We just got back from an amazing vacation to Vail, Colorado. We had so much fun seeing the gorgeous mountains and spending time with family. Maclane loved spending time with her cousins. They all wanted to swim in the hot tub. Maclane doesn't know how to swim, so Skyler and I stayed pretty close to her. She kept going under and thinking she was drowning. Skyler would lift her up and tell her to stand up and the water wasn't even like 2 ft. deep. It was so cute!

All dressed up

Recently Maclane was invited to a princess costume party. I took some pictures of her all dressed up and ready to go. What a cute little princess!!!

Lately Maclane has been wanting to pick out her own clothes. I put this outfit on her and the next thing I knew she had on her favorite cowboy boots and hat. I let her wear them, but brought a pair of sandals just in case. It has been over 90 degrees here.

Skyler's birthday & 4th of July

Skyler turned 30 yrs old this past weekend. We had a lot of fun celebrating. We are so lucky to have a lot of family around. Skyler had 3 parties. This is from the party at his parent's house. They forgot to put his ice cream cake in the freezer and it was totally melted. It was hilarious!!! Of course we all still ate it! Haha!!!

I think this is Skyler's favorite gift. He loves this knife! He carried it around with him the whole weekend (just in case he needed it). Haha!!!

Best Friends

Maclane's cousin and best friend came to visit for a few weeks. Here they are playing outside together at Ria's house. Darlene made Kaylin and Maclane matching princess skirts and shoes. They loved dancing around together.

The girls have had lots of fun days swimming together.

Boots, Boats and Family

Most of you probably remember these boots from our last post. Maclane LOVES them and wants to wear them every chance she gets.

Skyler's brothers came to visit before Spencer and Rachel move to Korea. We went paddle boating. It was a lot of fun...at least for me. Skyler had to paddle us all over the river without any help from me, b/c of my hurt ankle. Oh yeah and Maclane kept freaking out b/c she thought there were alligators in the water.

I love this picture of Maclane in her life jacket. She kept saying it was choking her and we didn't know whether to take it off and risk her drowning or hear her cry b/c it was tight. We just kept trying to loosen it. :)

It was a gorgeous day and we really did have a lot of fun. We want to go again soon and this time bring Maclane her own life jacket and a lot of snacks.

Skyler went on a fishing trip with his brothers and dad. When they got back everyone had a big fish fry. Everyone except for Maclane. She was mortified that Skyler killed the fish and then everyone was eating them. She kept saying "All the fish died, they died!!!" It was hilarious.

This year for our family vacation we decided to head to the Smokey Mountains. We had a blast!!!

We didn't realize how much Maclane loved cowboy boots until we went to this store. We tried these on her and could not get her to take them off. She was so cute dancing around the store and looking at herself in any mirror she could find. I think she will be wearing these boots for a long time. :)

We went hiking in the mountains. It was so beautiful!!!

We went horseback riding in the mountains. It was so much fun. They let Maclane ride on the horse with Skyler. She loved every minute of it. She didn't even get scared and wanted to do it again. :)

We went to a parade in Pigeon Forge.

I think this might have been one of Skyler's favorite places to visit. It is the Knife shop & museum. We spent a lot of time there. :) Skyler got this Rambo knife

among other things. I thought this picture was pretty funny, b/c Maclane was scared of the bear.

The Ripley's Aquarium was an experience. Maclane freaked when we 1st got there and kept saying "let's get out of here". She was so scared of the sharks, but by the time we made it to the penguins she was happy and loving it.

We rode the trolley into Gatlinburg and Maclane loved it. She kept asking to ride the train

again & again.
We also visited some really cool Cherokee trading posts and I got this amazing turqouise ring. We are so thankful for our fun trip and great weather. We hated to see it end.

Maclane

Time sure flies!!! This week our little girl turns 3 years old. She is the funniest and sweetest girl I know. We are so thankful to have her. Maclane really wants to be a "big girl" and loves to do everything by herself. She thinks Jacob from "Twilight" is her boyfriend. Everytime she sees his picture she says "Mom there is my boyfriend Jake". It is hilarious.

Maclane loves to learn. She can memorize books and when you read her a good night story she will pretend to read the words and usually gets it right. She loves to play outside and isn't scared of much except ants and ladybugs.

She loves her family. We are so lucky to have a lot of family close by. She gets spoiled by everyone. Maclane loves to go to church and see her friends. She really loves Jesus. We were talking to her about Easter and it made her so sad that Jesus died, but we told her he got resurrected and she said "I know Mom he left his sheets"...(we watched something on the history channel on the shroud of turin).

We couldn't ask for a better girl. She brings us so much joy!!!

We went to an Easter egg hunt at Ria's house. She was so excited. Skyler and my dad kept hiding the eggs over and over again for her.

Maclane and I woke up to a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny (Skyler). He made an egg hunt for us inside the house. Don't you love the trucker hat!!! It says "Daddy's little Angel".

This picture is so sweet. Maclane has this little stuffed animal she named Milo. She tells everyone he is her pet. She fell asleep reading him a book. :)

What we've been up to!!!

Ok, I know it has been since before Christmas that I updated our blog. Things have been super busy!!! Here is a little of what we have been up to lately.

Skyler is busy working full-time, going to school full-time (he only has 1 more semester after this one) and we are still renovating our house we bought last year. He also stays busy with 2 church callings...he is the 1st counselor in the Stake Sunday School Presidency and also a Sunday School teacher in our ward.

I am working 2 days a week as a nanny taking care of 4 boys. This job is really great, b/c I am able to take Maclane to work with me. I also work 2 days a week at Lancome cosmetics. My Mom keeps Maclane 1 day and then Skyler has "daddy-daughter" time with her the other day I work. I have several other projects I am working on. I am also enjoying my calling as a Primary teacher for the Valiant 8 class. Most of all I love being a mom and wife.

Maclane has been the busiest of all. She is learning so many new things and has more energy than Skyler and I combined!!! She loves playing with her friends, Barbie movies, learning about anything, dancing, singing, counting, drawing and being the cutest girl I have ever seen. Maclane has also developed a smart mouth that has gotten her in a lot of trouble. She says the funniest things.

The other night we took Maclane to the circus. It was so much fun. We all loved it. Maclane keeps talking about the elephants. Skyler and I were amazed at the skills of all the performers. We are already looking forward to going next year.

Walking In A Winter Wonderland

On the 16th and 17th of December we took off to have a Christmas family trip at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. The lights and decorations there are always dazzling and the nativities located throughout the building always bring in the holiday spirit. One of the amazing decorations is the ginormous 100 ft Christmas tree we decided to take a picture by. That's the tree behind us, it was a little hard getting the entire tree inside the picture

Everything was very fun. We walked through Opry Mills Mall going from shop to shop trying to tie up any loose ends of our holiday shopping. Our experience was going great until this shark decided to get into our family picture and make a move on my wife outside the Aquarium Restaurant. Try their new shark steaks.

Ashley and Maclane are dolling it up in front of an entire Christmas tree made up of Poinsettias. The tree was about teen feet tall and there is no telling how many pots of flowers were used to create the tree. Maclane was especially thrilled being near this tree because of the huge silver and blue wrapped presents under it. She is ready to open some presents and we were ready to go after she tried opening two or three of them.

Beautiful falls of Christmas lights twinkled in the air all in this part of the hotel. They were joined by large hot-air balloons piloted by zebras dressed like elves and parachuting giraffes with Santa Clause outfits twirled about with festive glee. Our pictures really do little justice to the grandeur of decorations on display. Maclane often had to ride horse back to get a better view and keep the decorations and flowers in tact.

Cracker Barrel is always one of our favorite places to eat except when they give you a pork barbecue plate that looks like it came from the kids menu. Maclane and I had a great time though and Ashley snapped this quick shot as all of us worked on Maclane's activity menu. Around the corner from our table sat a gentleman with a stars and stripes bandanna. The entire time Maclane pointed out we were sitting by a pirate and was yelling over to him, asking him where his treasure was. Another thing that was funny is that there was a deer head mounted on the wall and Maclane was calling it Rudolph and asked where was Santa. We hoped looking around we wouldn't find Santa's head mounted anywhere.

We had such a fun Halloween this year. Here are some pictures from our weekend.

I think Halloween might be Maclane's favorite holiday. She LOVES chocolate and was so excited that people were just giving it to her. Ever since she learned to say "Trick or Treat" she has been asking everyone...cashiers, demo ladies at Sam's club for candy. It is so funny.

I love this picture. This is what Maclane's bed looks like when she goes to sleep. We have had a hard time getting her to sleep in her bed (since she was born). We let her take a stuffed animal to bed with her and this is what it turned into. Every night she has to have certain toys in her bed and she wants to read them a book. It is so cute. We have to go in there after she falls asleep and move the stuffed animals, so she can actually sleep in her bed. It is so funny. All her animals are special to her...she even prays for them by name. :)

We celebrated Great Grandma's birthday. Maclane loved helping blow out the candles. We really enjoyed having G.Grandma for a visit.

We borrowed a kitten for Maclane to spend the day with. We have thought about getting a pet, but after spending a weekend with this kitten we decided to wait alittle longer. Let's just say that Maclane loved it almost to death. :) She was like that little girl on the old Looney Toones cartoons. We laughed, but felt sorry for the kitten.

My sister Michelle gave Maclane this princess hat. She wants to wear it all the time. It is so cute.

Maclane goes to the library twice a week for storytime and let me tell you it's the highlight of her week. We call it school, b/c she wants to be a "big girl" and go to school like some of her friends. Her teachers are amazing. We have been going since we moved into our new house and Maclane and I both have made a lot of new friends.

Craft time with Maclane is so funny. She's into "I do it myself" lately, so no matter what the craft is she wants to do it her way. Its pretty cute just to watch her and see what she comes up with. Of course I'm always there to help if she wants me to. I just wanted to post what a normal day is for us. The life of a mom...what can I say. :)

I can't believe summer is almost over!!!

Ok...so as much as I am looking forward to the Fall I am alittle sad that summer is almost over. We have had such a great past few months. Here are a couple pics from the summer. I couldn't resist posting a few from the beach trip earlier this summer and also a few more just having fun.

I love this one of Skyler and Maclane. He is such a good Dad.

I think this was the highlight of Maclane's summer. She is still talking about feeding the birds on the Dolphin Cruise.

Maclane was so hilarious at the beach. One day she would love it and we could barely get her to leave and then the next day she wouldn't like it at all. We never really knew what to expect. I thought this picture was really funny though. That is her little "frog potty" in the background. We were potty training at the time...glad those days are over!!!

We have had so much fun playing with Addie this summer. The girls have done so many fun things together. This is from a day at Bridgestreet.

We are so blessed b/c both of Maclane's grandparents have pools, so we have been swimming A LOT this summer. :) She is getting better at swimming, but I am kind of paranoid and make her wear these floaties. Maybe next year we won't need them at all.

We have really had a great summer. I am so thankful for all the different seasons. I always get so excited for the next season to come. I can't wait to wear sweaters, go to the pumpkin patch, drink hot chocolate and listen to Norah Jones. Thanks for caring about our family. We love you!

Our trip to Knoxville

Skyler had a business trip in Knoxville, so Maclane and I decided to tag along. We had so much fun. I wasn't able to take as many pics as I wanted, but on the bright side I was having to much fun to grab my camera very often. The hotel we stayed at had a pool and hot tub so while Skyler was at work we were able to stay busy swimming and do a little sight seeing.

We thought it might be fun to go bowling. It was Maclane's first time and she was very excited. She kept grabbing her bowling ball and running in front of the other lanes. Overall it was crazy, but a lot of fun.

Stripling Warrior

I couldn't resist posting some pics of Skyler in his Stripling Warrior costume. The young women in our ward had a scripture reading party this past weekend and Skyler was asked to dress up and visit the girls. It was so hilarious...he had this huge spear with him and had a speech prepared to motivate the girls. I wasn't able to go, but heard it went really well. I'm very proud of Skyler for making time to help the young women!

We have had such a fun & busy weekend. It started with a birthday celebration for Skyler. Maclane loved helping blow out the candles.

On the 4th of July we went to this really fun animal safari about 45 min. from our house. Maclane loved the animals....well most of them anyways. I thought this pic was cute, b/c she was so excited to see the deer. You stay in the car and feed the animals out of the window. You'll see why in the next few pics.

Maclane kept screaming "No birds!!!" She is still talking about it. Even though it was a little scary she still had a great time.

Will & Ashley's visit

The past 2 weeks we have had my brother and his wife Ashley visiting us from Utah. Also "Baby Wood" (who should be arriving in August) was there in Ashley's tummy. Maclane thought it was so awesome that there was a baby in there. Poor Ashley, she was so sweet to let Maclane kiss and rub on her tummy and even pull all over her shirt to try and find the baby. It was precious. Here is a pic of the 3 of them. We miss you guys already!!!

Here is a pic of Shariana and I. We had a pizza night at my Aunt Darlene's house. It was a lot of fun.

Maclane has totally fallen in love with Will. She constantly says, "Will c'mon I want to show you something". Only she hasn't thought of what she wants to show him yet. She just wants his attention. He was very sweet to Maclane. Here is Chin-Pie (that is what Maclane calls my dad). She copies everything my dad says and does. He taught her how to say SUCKA really loud. It is awful and hilarious all at the same time.

Ashley had to return to Utah a little earlier than Will, so at the pizza night he made her a heart pizza. We all missed her there. In the back that's my mom Maria laughing at the face Will is making.

I would like to say a special thanks to our family for helping us with our shed this past weekend. I felt terrible, because it was like 100 degrees outside, but the guys worked without any complaints. Thanks Skyler, Dad, Will, Doug and Adam for your help. We love you and appreciate you. While the guys were working Maclane and her cousins were eating Watermelon and playing outside. Here are some pics from the project. It still needs to be painted, but we'll save that for another weekend.
